He thought differently from the rest. His attire mainly consisted of a black pair of slacks and a black polo. Sometimes a black button down. His shades were always withing reach. His opinions of the world and the people in it would differentiate as often as his under wear. D=For the most part he had learned to hate everything around him, but learned how to hide it well. He had a weakness for women. Every so often he would meet one that would capture a peace of his heart. These women would make him want to be a better man. They would make him want to care. They would until one day he stopped caring.
It was on a Friday night. His shift had ended and he met with a couple of acquaintances. The night was young and the moon was full. Limitless possibilities filled the air of the night. The group found their way into a private basement. A bag full of mushrooms to be split three ways and forty dollars worth of herb. Laughter filled the basement as smoke hugged the walls. It wasn't long before the tiles on the walls began to dance through out the room. The small group would look around with a new found sense of amazement. To some forests began to grow throughout the basement. Tiny bearded men would dance and yodel in the background. To his right, pipes began to rattle and steam and machines would shake heavily as though they were about to erupt.
They made their way around the basement. They became to the Scooby Doo gang as they investigated each new room in this new and exciting world they were embarking on. Through one exit they ventured and found themselves in a garden paradise. The sky was crisp and the air was fresh. Lights traveled upward towards the sky. The Group investigated this paradise shortly, but knew there was far more to learn about this new land. The boy all dressed in black began to feel a new sense of awkwardness. He was embarrassed by his appearance. Somewhere in his life he decided not to care. His wardrobe was as black as he felt his heart was. All he wanted was to belong, but how could he in a world he hated?
The night was beginning to wane. The trio decided to venture into the outside land. As they walked down the streets freedom filled their hearts. A joyous feeling it was as they walked side by side. They had all shared an amazing experience together and were bonding as they never could before. The moon filled the night sky and the stars gravitated toward it. The further they walked the further behind they left the darkness. The further away the boy in black left the darkness. He had been enlightened from the experience and saw himself from who he was and who he wanted to be.
They began to split ways as the birds chirped in the tree's. The sky was now a light blue and the streets began to fill with morning traffic. The trip had ended by the time he entered his apartment. He stood in the shower as the water fell onto his face and slid down his body. His hair covered his face. The night was being washed away by the water. He was starting to feel like himself again. The thoughts continued to fill his mind. It was unbearable. He wanted to cry. He hated his person so much that he even thought it would be ok to die. He inhaled and exhaled. He lost himself in meditation. The tears were washed away with the water and so was the darkness he kept within him. It was time to change. Time to become a better man. He turned the water off and slid open the shower door. he walked over to the mirror and took a look at a new man for the first time.
